Kom el Shoqafa

it is an archaeological historical site located in Alexandria, in the Kom El Shoqafa area, south of Mina Al Basal neighborhood. It is considered one of the most important tombs of the city, and it is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. The cemetery consists of a spiral staircase that is connected to the three floors, and the staircase has lower levels, which are more elevated. It is the largest public Roman cemetery found in Alexandria and located on the borders of the Western Cemetery in ancient Alexandria and dates back to the second century AD . The museum includes the Tegran Cemetery, Istegni (Wardian Cemetery), Silvago, and some archaeological finds. The cemetery consists of three levels dotted in the rock below the surface of the earth. Recently, after reducing the level of groundwater in 1995 to the second level, the third level remains steeped in groundwater, which represents the main problem facing this cemetery.
